Searching for crawfish thieves
Rayne Chief of Police Carroll Stelly is asking for help to help identify the suspect(s) who stole over $1,000 worth of live crawfish.
During the evening hours of Wednesday March 19, 2008, suspects(s) entered a storage building located at Hanks Warehouse on Highway 90 East in Rayne and stole 18 sacks of live crawfish. The business had a large amount on hand for Good Friday, a traditional day of crawfish boils in Acadiana.
Anyone who might have seen persons selling a large number of sacks of live crawfish at regular or at a discount price, please call the Rayne Police Department at 334-4215, 334-207 or Acadia Crimestoppers at 789-TIPS, 789-8477.
Callers will remain anonymous and could receive up to a $1,000 cash reward for information about this or any other crime.
