Sonniers celebrate 50th anniversary

Martha “Tookie” Frederick of Abbeville married Robert Maurice Sonnier of Scott, LA in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church on July 3, 1958.

They are now celebrating the Golden Wedding Anniversary. During their marriage, they had five children: Marie “Noonie”, Maureen “Shonie”,  Robert Jr. “Sookie”,  Marguerite Ann “Bonkie” and Frederick “Foonie”. There are now also seven grandchildren.

The children celebrated their mom and dad’s anniversary with a surprise visit from a close friend, Fr. Floyd Calais who performed a renewal of wedding vows for the couple followed by a reception with friends and family at River Front Restaurant in Abbeville.
