STAC splits two at Tiger Park

BATON ROUGE - It may not be the old Alex Box Stadium, but for softball fans and players LSU’s Tiger Park has its own mystique.
STAC, the Eunice High-based softball team, participated in the anuual LSU team camp led by head coach Yvette Giraud and her staff.
After three hours of skills taught by the Lady Tiger staff, each team paricipated in two games.
In the first game, STAC rolled to a 11-0 win over CATZ (Nacogdoches, Texas) as Jori Lejeune pitched a shutout.
In the second game, STAC fell 4-0 to Sacred Heart of Ville Platte.
After the trip to Baton Rouge, STAC traveled to Laayette and cruised to a U-16 10-2 win and a U-14 2-2 tie against Acadiana.
STAC visits South Beauregard today and will entertain Beau Chene on Monday in the season finale.
U-16 pitcher Jori Lejeune recorded 10 strike outs in the 10-2 win.
After two scoreless innings, STAC scored three runs in the third inning.
Meagan McLemore hit a double to left field, Cesly West walked and Jennifer Frey bunted and reached third on errors as STAC led 2-0.
Camille Faul then singled to right field scoring Frey for a three-run advantage.
STAC scored three more runs in the fourth inning, sparked when Lejeune walked, Kaye Kaye Deviller singled and Amber Darbonne walked to load the bases.
Courtney Fontenot hit a shot to centerfield to clear the bases.
With a 6-0 lead, STAC scored four more runs in the top of the fifth for a 10-0 margin.
STAC recorded singles from Meagan McLemore Cesly West, Camille Faul, and Sarah Hebert.
Emily Turner walked and Lejeune followed with a single.
After Darbonne walked, Kirston West hit to close out the impressive inning.
Acadiana scored two runs in the bottom of the inning to avoid the shutout.
In the U-14 tie with Acadiana, Camille Faul pitched and recorded one strikeout, while Kerston West, Maggie Schoeffler, Paige Johnson, and Katie Conditt all rapped out hits for STAC.
