During its first meeting of September, the club heard from fellow Rotarian and Ville Platte Mayor Jennifer Vidrine. She first congratulated the Sacred Heart Trojans on winning the Tee Cotton Bowl.

New royalty was crowned Saturday, at the Louisiana Tournoi Pageant. The newly crowned queens were Miss Samara Lafleur, Miss Charlie Bieber, and Miss Holly Kay.

Allen Ben is the pastor of Zion Travelers Baptist Church in Mamou and New Zion Baptist Church in Eunice. Ben recently shared about how he continues to be a religious leader and what he does to help out the churches.

Some children spend most of every minute of their free time in front of a television or a computer screen. One Ville Platte 12-year-old, Ella Ortego; however, spends her time making her own jewelry, and marketed some of her crafts at the Sunset Jam Saturday in Sunset.
