Team Pitre remains in first place in mens’ league

Team Pitre held onto first place with an 8-8 tie against third-place Team Manuel in Week Nine of Eunice Mens Tennis League play.
On Court One, Terry Hoychick and Dr. John Fontenot narrowly won a 6-4, 4-6, 10-7 split set against Team Pitre’s Sam Andrus and Chris Gaspard.
Team Pitre’s Jude Miller and Wayne Wimberly won a split set against Scott Manuel and Eric May of Team Manuel on Court Two.
On Court Three, team captain Gene Manuel and Brad Courville won a 7-6, 5-7, 6-4 split set against Jacque Pucheu and Tim Longman of Team Pitre.
Team Pitre’s Monty Person and Greg Gaspard won a 7-5, 2-6, 11-9 split set against Team Manuel’s Father Tom Voorhies and Red Aucoin on Court Four.
On Court Five, Team Pitre’s Brett Bergeron and John Pucheu defeated Randy Frugé and John Carpenter of Team Manuel 6-4, 6-3.
Scoring a win for Team Manuel, Kenneth Gaspard and Dustin Ashford scored a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Al Marks and Gene May of Team Pitre on Court Six.
In the other match of the week, fourth-place Team D’Aubin took a 8-5 victory over former leader Team Moosa.
On Court One, Team D’Aubin’s Troy Broussard and Chris Gaspard won a 6-3, 6-3 victory over David Clause and Eric May of Team Moosa.
Scoring a win for Team Moosa, Russell Courville and Adam Bass won a 6-1, 6-1 match against Nicky Moreau and Jason Hanna of Team D’Aubin on Court Two.
On Court Three, Nick Frugé and Pierre Martel of Team D’Aubin defeated Team Moosa’s Donald Martel and Randall Vigee 6-2, 6-4.
Also scoring a win for Team D’Aubin, Ton Dietz and Willie Glasscock scored a 6-2, 7-6 win over Team Moosa’s Vernon Fusilier and Scott Eckholdt on Court Four.
On Court Five, Dax Dupre and Ray Biessenberger won a 6-4, 2-6, 11-8 split set agianst team captain Steve Moosa and David Harper.
Team Moosa’s Mike Conner and Jim Butler won a 6-4, 6-4 match against team captain Darren D’Aubin and Melvin Bellow on Court Six.
