Team Sam extends lead in Ladies League Week 10

Team Sam extended its lead in Week 10 of Eunice Ladies Tennis League play with a 9-8 win over second-place Team Manuel.
On Court One, Felicia Allen and Nisha Sam of Team Sam won a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Team Manuel’s Jeanine Kibodeaux and Robin Bellard.
Team Manuel forfeited on Court Two, giving Team Sam the win.
On Court Three, Melissa Reynolds and Paula Frugé scored a win for Team Manuel with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Joan McManus and Liz Ortego of Team Sam.
Team captain Cheryl Manuel and Cindy Burge won a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 split set over Team Sam’s Blanche Fontenot and Lonell White on Court Four.
In the other match of the week, trailing Team Tupper closed in on Team Richard after scoring a 12-6 victory over the third-place team.
On Court One, Team Tupper’s Bonnie Butler and Ann Roberts won a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 split set against Tina Duplechin and Cynthia Tanner of Team Richard.
Shirley Miller and Brenda Fontenot also scored a win for Team Tupper with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Team Richard’s Myra Miller and Sheila Rheams on Court Two.
On Court Three, Yvonne Vasseur and Doreen Miller scored Team Richard’s sole win with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over team captain Connie Tupper and Loretta Simon.
Team Tupper’s Katie Young and Jean Higginbotham scored a win on Court Four with a 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 split set victory over Shelly Miller and Amber Rougeau of Team Richard.
