PINE PRAIRIE -- Two women were arrested in Pine Prairie Wednesday after Pine Prairie Assistant Police Chief Rick Ordner observed them near a business’s dumpster.
Stephanie Mouton Sparks, 36, of Oakdale, was arrested on charges of trespassing, possession of Schedule II narcotics, methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Victoria L. Shaw, 36, of Jennings, was arrested on charges of trespassing, possession of Schedule II narcotics, marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Shaw also had a bench warrant for a speeding ticket.
According to a news release from the Pine Prairie Police Department, Ordner saw the two women coming from behind the partitions that close in the dumpster.
After speaking with Detective Josh Estes, Sparks told the officer he could search the vehicle. During the search, Estes located the women’s purses. Estes said he located three glass pipes with suspected methamphetamine residue and a clear plastic bag with a piece of paper with small amount of suspected methamphetamine in Sparks’ purse. Estes said he located a pill bottle with a piece of folded up paper with a rolled cigarette, suspected to be marijuana, and a pack of cigarette rolling papers.
The two women were transported to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office Detention Center for processing.
