Ulysses Prevost, Sr. rites set Friday

RAYNE - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, on Friday, July 25, 2008 for Ulysses “Ducky” Joseph Prevost, Sr., 81, who died Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at his residence.

Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne.

Prevost was on the board of directors of Rayne State Bank, where he served as former president CEO, and chairman for over 20 years.

Surviving are daughter, Pam Grotefend and husband Mike of Scott, son, Larry Prevost of Rayne, daughter, Elaine Greenman and husband Gerald of Lake Charles, son, Ulysses “Joey” Prevost and wife Kristi of Rayne, daughter, Emma Schneider and husband Chris of Baton Rouge, 14 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, brother, CJ Prevost of Rayne, Harold Prevost of Rayne, sister, Mary Ann Breaux of Rayne, sister, Rose Fisher of Opelousas, sister, Tina Comeaux of Ponchatoula.

He was preceded in death by wife, Patricia Prevost, one son, David Gerard Prevost, wife, Louetta Prevost, parents, Joachim Prevost and Gertrude Dupont Prevost, three sisters Iris Duhon, Claymae Crowell, Eunice Thomas.

He was born Thursday, April 14, 1927 in Acadia Parish, son of the late Joachim Prevost and the late Gertrude Dupont.

Friends will be received 10 a.m. until 9 p.m., Thursday, July 24, 2008 and 8 a.m. until services Friday, July 25, 2008 at the at the Gossen Funeral Home, Inc. in Rayne.
