With little to discuss on their agenda, the Pine Prairie Council spent their Thursday night meeting talking about a community event that the town will be hosting this Sunday.
Council members Tammy Hammond and Debbie Oge, and mayor pro-temp Quint West will all be in attendance at the event, and they said that they are looking forward to it.
The community gathering will begin at 2:00 p.m. on August 14th, and will be at the town’s community center. The purpose of the event will be to show support for law enforcement, as well as to pray for the community and school. After a time of prayer, there will be cake and punch for visitors to enjoy.
The council said that the entire community is invited.
Other items approved at the meeting were:
Adoption of property tax millages.
Approval of regular meeting minutes from July 14, 2016.
Approval to pay monthly expenditures.
