Vows exchanged by Galla, Deaner
Paige Kristin Galla and Gregory Orion Loomis Deaner of Fort Collins, Colorado became husband and wife during an outdoors, afternoon wedding. The double ring ceremony was held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2008 at the Lincoln Center Terrace in Fort Collins, Colorado. Pastor Manon Webber officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Dianne D. Galla of Fort Collins, Colorado. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dischler of Crowley. Paige moved to Fort Collins with her mother when she was 18 months old. She attended Linton Elementary, Preston Junior High School and Fort Collins High School. She graduated from Colorado State University with a B.A. in history and religious studies.
The groom is the son of Jon and Arlene Deaner of Fort Collins, Colorado. Gregory moved to Fort Collins along with his parents when he was eight years of age. He attended Rocky Mountain High School. He studied graphic design at Front Range Community College. He is currently employed with Aerospace Machining Company as a part of the shipping/receiving personnel.
The bride, escorted by her uncle, Tom Hanson, was lovely in a strapless gown of ivory, silk organza. The tea-length gown featured a pleated waist, encircled by an elegant sash. A lustrous jeweled brooch adorned the sash and was perfectly placed where the bodice met the inverted pleats of the flowing skirt. Her headpiece was a style from the past, a vintage inspired bird-cage veil embellished with a silk magnolia. Her bouquet was an one of a kind, uniquely created with white hydrangeas, green Kermit mums and rosemary resting on a bed of camellia leaves. This mixed spray was entwined with braided ivory and pistachio colored silk ribbon held by pearl charmed head pins.
In keeping with tradition, the bride carried a crystal beaded rosary that belonged to her great grandmother, Ida Daigle Robinson of Crowley, as something old, her satin peep-toe heels with rhinestone accents was something new, she wore her mother’s pearl necklace as something borrowed and something blue was a silk garter with a bow.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was her former college roommate Sarah Swick of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Other attendants were bridesmaids Rachel Walls, a childhood friend of the bride; and Shelby Blessing, friend and travel companion of the bride.
The bridal attendants were captivating in strapless, two-toned, black and pistachio satin dresses. The tea-length dresses featured a drop-waist and was completed with a dainty sash. They each carried a hand-tied bouquet opposite of the bride’s. Tied together with a green and white polka-dotted ribbon, their bouquet consisted of green hydrangeas and white Kermit mums.
Standing as best man was the groom’s father Jon Deaner. The groom’s attendants were Gerardo Aguirre and Brooke Thorne, friends of the couple.
Upon entering the terrace, guests were ushered to their seats by Devin Bunten and Jon McDonnell, friends of the couple.
Brooke Hefferman served as flower girl and Ayden Hefferman was the ring bearer, both are friends of the bride’s family.
On her daughter’s special day, the mother of the bride wore a stunning beige cotton sundress with brown celebratory swirls and grosgrain ribbon accents, while the mother of the groom was elegant in a flowing white sundress with green and taupe print. Both mothers were presented with corsages of green roses.
The Lincoln Center Terrace also served as the reception area following the ceremony. The natural setting of the terrace created a tranquil ambience among the entourage.
The simplicity of the decor was inspirational, with small glass vase centerpieces accented with green and white polka-dotted ribbons placed on the tabletops. The vases were filled with white daisies.
The bride’s cake was a three-tiered, white confection featuring three delicious fillings, lemon/raspberry, creme brulée and chocolate hazelnut. Accentuating the cake was green fondant ribbons encircling each layer and white icing polka-dots.
Out of town guests traveled from Xi’An, China, Brooklyn, New York, Australia and various parts of Louisiana.
After returning from a wedding trip to New Orleans, the couple will reside in Fort Collins, Colorado.
A rehearsal dinner was held on the night prior to the wedding at Savoy Brasserie, hosted by the bride’s mother. Guests were treated to a delightful meal.
