At a recent Ville Platte Civil Service meeting, the board reviewed exam scores from the three applicants vying for the newly created position of Fire Safety Training Officer.
During the board’s January meeting, three applicants were approved to take the required exam.
Of those three, applicant Christopher Soileau was the only one to pass. One of the individuals ended up not taking the exam, and the other did not pass the test.
The Fire Safety Training Officer position that the applicants were vying for was created to help Ville Platte Fire Chief Chris Harrison with office work that was being pushed aside for him to respond to calls, in addition to meeting training needs.
The next step in this process will be to choose an applicant to fill the new position of Fire Safety Training Officer.
