VPPD arrests subject for unauthorized use of a moveable

On Monday at around 3:00 p.m. Ville Platte Chief of Police Neal Lartique released a statement in regards to a disturbance that turned into a chase down Main Street in Ville Platte on Monday morning.
The release stated that on “June 19, 2017, officers with the Ville Platte Police Department responded to a disturbance at a local business on Tate Cove Rd.”
According to the release, “Upon arrival, officers learned that one of the subjects, involved in the disturbance fled the area in a vehicle that he did not have permission to use.”
“A few minutes later,” the release state, “the vehicle and subject were located and stopped on Main Street by detectives and officers.”
The subject arrested has been identified as 48-year-old Emanuel Malbrew of 280 Austin Road, Ville Platte.
Malbrew was booked into the city jail and charged with unauthorized use of a moveable.
The Ville Platte man was later transported to the parish jail, where he remains on a $15,000 bond.
