Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office lists 16 recent arrests

•Derrick Shane Miller, 35, 3291 Tiger Lane, Ville Platte, was charged December 19, with domestic abuse battery. Miller posted a $15,000 bond and was released from jail.

•John Eric Sparks, 48, 1572 Blood Bend Road, St. Landry, was charged December 20, with possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sparks posted a $10,000 bond and was released from jail.

•Mitchell Joseph Fontenot, 43, 309 Demonchervaux Blvd., Ville Platte, was charged December 20, with possession of alprozlam and possession of soma. Fontenot posted a $10,000 bond and was released from jail.

•Andaisha Lasha George, 18, 710 Harvey Labas Drive, Ville Platte, was charged December 20, with disturbing the peace by language (two counts), battery on a police officer and resisting an officer. George posted a $5,000 bond and was released from jail.

•Brenda Faye Edwards, 44, 543 Prosper St., Ville Platte, was charged December 20, with distribution of crack cocaine. Edwards was being held on a $20,000 bond.

•Mitchell Joseph Fontenot, 43, 309 Demonchervaux Blvd., Ville Platte, was charged December 21, with unauthorized use of an access card. Fon tenot posted a $12,500 bond and was released from jail.

•Dean Louis Mitchell, 54, 1303 Hickory St., Ville Platte, was charged December 21, with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine. Mitchell posted a $12,000 bond and was released from jail.

•Darrell James Ledet Jr., 30, 111 Marietta Place, Gray, was charged December 22, with aggravated incest. Ledet was being held on a $100,000 bond.

•Thomas Kegan Vidrine, 22, 1409 Godwin St., Mamou, was charged December 22, with DWI (second offense), speeding (60 mph in a 45 mph zone), failure to use a turn signal and obscured view. Vidrine posted a $2,101.50 bond and was released from jail.

•Francisco Bernal, 38, 6995 Highway 29, Bunkie, was charged December 23, with simple battery. Bernal posted a $1,000 bond and was released from jail.

•Victor Ray Carpenter, 18, 1103 Beech St., Elizabeth, was charged December 23, with careless operation, open container, expired MVI, no seat belt, texting while driving and hit and run. Carpenter posted a $674 bond and was released from jail.

•Jimmie Roy Alfred, 53, 210 E. Beech St., Ville Platte, was charged December 24, with distribution of diazepam. Alfred posted a $20,000 bond and was released from jail.

•Roland Richard Jr., 46, 1021 C.J. Ave., Ville Platte, was charged December 25, with theft of over $500 and simple criminal damage to property. Richard was being held on a $4,000 bond.

•Susan Ann Rider, 38, 1020 N. Reed St., Apt. 5, Ville Platte, was charged December 26, with distribution of diazepam, acetaminiphen, butalbital and caffeine. Rider posted a $25,000 bond and was released from jail.

•Clyde Joseph Fontenot, 55, 501 W. Wilson St., Ville Platte, was charged December 27, with distribution of Viagra. Fontenot was being held on a $5,000 bond.

•Romain Thomas, 34, 1286 Whiteville Rd., Ville Platte, was charged December 27, with distribution of crack cocaine. Thomas was being held on a $10,000 bond.
