RILEY ‘RED’ DESHOTEL
WHITEVILLE - Funeral services were held for Riley “Red” Deshotel, 77, of Whiteville, at The Church of Resurrection in Whiteville at 2 p.m., today, July 20. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Deshotel died Friday, July 18, 2008, at Ville Platte Medical Center. He was a past member of the American Legion in Washington.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Soileau Deshotel of Whiteville; three daughters, Sherry McCullough and husband, Tim, of Friendswood, Texas, Catherine West and husband, Craig, of Chataignier and Pam Ardoin and husband, Greg, of Ville Platte; one brother Donald Deshotel of Vidrine; one sister Gloria Dupre and husband, Floyd, of Ville Platte; seven grandchildren, Matthew McCullough, Sarah Dawson, Ben McCullough, Bo West, Christina West, Jared Ardoin and Hanna Ardoin.
He was preceded in death by parents, Maurice and Annie Guillory Deshotel; and a brother, Lowell Deshotel.
Visitation will resume today at 8 a.m. at the funeral home until time of services.

DANA GUILLORY MAXFIELD
May 22, 1969 - July 16, 2008
PINE PRAIRIE - Funeral services were held for Dana Guillory Maxfield, 39, of Pine Prairie, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Clearwater at 2 p.m., Friday, July 18. Burial followed in the Pratt Cemetery.
Mrs. Maxfield died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Ochsner’s Hospital in New Orleans.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Maxfield of Pine Prairie; her mother, Deanna Guillory of Pine Prairie; one son, Garrett Holsomback of Pine Prairie; one step-son, Adam Maxfield of Eunice; two daughters, Carrie Holsomback and Kasie Holsomback, both of Pine Prairie; two step-daughters, Lacey Maxfield and Sally Maxfield, both of Lafayette; and one grandchild, Olivia Kidder,
She was preceded in death by her father, Gay Guillory; and one brother, Shane Guillory.
Rev. Daniel Holsomback officiated.

BASILE - Funeral services will be held for Gilbert LeBlanc, 86, of Basile, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile at 2 p.m., today, July 20. Burial will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum.

BEVERLY F. MOREAU
December 6, 1929 - July 18, 2008
MAMOU - Funeral services will be held for Beverly F. Moreau, 78, of Mamou, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou at 2 p.m., today, July 20. Burial will follow in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery.
A native of Church Point, Ms. Moreau died at 8:34 a.m., Friday, July 18, 2008, at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou after a long illness. She was a retired cook for the Evangeline Parish School System.
Survivors include three daughters, Jackie Richard and her husband, Jimmy, of Mamou, Judy Veillon and her husband, Charles, of Sunset and Connie Manuel and her husband, Allen R., of Ville Platte; one brother, N.C. Fontenot of California; five sisters, Clara Carpenter of California and Dorothy “Dot” Fontenot, Gercie “Toppie” Fuselier, Shella Fruge and Monica Olivier, all of Eunice; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Amelia Fontenot; one granddaughter, Cynthia Richard Laughlin; one grandson, Lance Manuel; and one brother, Kelly Fontenot.
Father Bob Courville will officiate.
