Louisiana Teen Tournoi Queen LXIV Sydney Reed jumped into Landry’s boat, despite the odor coming from the two gators inside, to get a close up look.

Swamp People stars visit Chicot State Park for filming

Troy Landry and his son Brandon, stars of the TV series “Swamp People,” stayed overnight in a cabin at Chicot State Park last week to film an episode of the show.

Troy said they baited nine lines in the lake in about an hour during the afternoon of Thursday, September 19. They went back out Friday about 8 a.m. and kept two of the largest gators they caught and cut five or six others loose.

“This is my first trip to this area,” he said before leaving the park shortly before noon Friday. He and his “Swamp People” cohorts usually scour the wetlands of South Louisiana for alligators.

But he seemed pretty impressed with what he found here. “I can’t get over how pretty this park is,” he said, adding that the people he met were “super nice and friendly.”

He also was impressed with the cabin he stayed in overnight, Cabin Nr. 3.

Before leaving the park, Louisiana Teen Tournoi Queen LXIV Sydney Reed and her family stopped by. She presented Landry with a Tournoi T-shirt, then got into the boat with the two gators.

As Landry got his boat and trailer ready for the trip back south, to the next shooting in Lake Fausse Pointe State Park, in Saint Martinville, he noticed the expression on Sydney’s face. “Yeah, it’s a stinky job,” he admitted.
