Arrested were the following persons:
•Dewayne Thomas, 22, 522 East St., Mamou, was charged April 28, with disturbing the peace by language. Thomas bonded out of jail the same day.

Mamou police, with the help of citizens, tracked down suspects in two crimes recently.
The first crime was reported about 5:30 a.m. on April 23, when an East Street resident called the police to report someone had broken into his house.

•Gregory Lanigne, 59, 1597 Ball Park Road, Mamou, was charged April 21, with violation of protective order. Lanigne was transferred to the parish jail.

•Zackery Ellison, 30, 309 Elm St., Mamou, was charged April 15, with theft of utilities. Ellison bonded out of jail the same day.

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported 15 recent bookings into the parish jail.
Arrested were the following persons:
•Marvin Lee Freeman, 27, 219 Cross St., Mamou, was charged April 7, with simple battery. Freeman was being held in jail on a $1,500 bond at press time.
