The Eunice Blue Jays and the Eunice Junior Oilers got together Thursday night at the Eunice High baseball field to allow some of their younger players to get playing time.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose and other times the games get rained out.

For the Eunice Junior Oilers Wednesday it seemed like they would see all three possibilities.

CROWLEY – Sheriff Wayne Melancon will officially be sworn in by District Judge Kristian Earles to begin his second term on today at 1 p.m.

CROWLEY – The Mayor’s annual “Trash Bash” took place last Saturday as a group of concerned citizens picked up litter around the city. The group, which consisted of over 45 volunteers, gathered at Crowley city hall Saturday morning to begin their task.

The Eunice Elite went through last weekend undefeated and captured the Mamou Invitational championship.

Elite competed against six other teams in the 14U age group and began with a 4-2 win over the Pine Prairie Executers on Friday night.

The city’s formal response to a compliance order and notice of potential penalty from the Dept. of Environmental Quality says the city is moving to fix wastewater problems and repeats a number of allegations about prior history at the facility.

BATON ROUGE -Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns softball team took a road trip to the state capitol in Baton Rouge and was honored by both the state Senate and House of Representatives for its performance during the 2008 season.
