The 2008 High School baseball season was a very competitive one here in Evangeline Parish. All four teams in the parish competed against one another and against the Class 2A teams from St. Landry Parish.

CROWLEY – Wilbert Cormier, 81, died Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home.

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Thomas Wilfred Early, 82, died on Friday, June 6, 2008 in Pensacola, Fla.

JENNINGS – Nathan Blaine LeJeune, infant, died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the Jennings American Legion Hospital.

Arrangements were entrusted to Matthew and Son Funeral Home of Jennings.

CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 for Bridget W. Larive of Crowley, 93, who died Saturday, June 6, 2008 at Southwind Nursing Home in Crowley.

Rev. Paul Estes will be officiating the services.

RAYNE – Funeral services will be held at St. Leo IV Catholic Church, Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at for Henry L Meyer, 67 who died Monday, June 9, 2008 in Roberts Cove.

Interment will be in the St. Leo Cemetery in Rayne
