CROWLEY – Although the 2008 prep softball season has come and gone, honors continue to roll in for two local standouts.

CROWLEY – Moving up in classification is tough for most teams no matter what district a team is placed in.

It is even tougher when you are thrown in one of the best leagues in Class AAA.

CROWLEY – As a sophomore, Crowley’s Frem Reggie starred for Episcopal School of Acadiana (ESA) in Cade, earning All-District and All-State honors in his first year of varsity baseball.

CROWLEY – When it came to excelling in both the classroom and in athletics, no two athletes had more success at Crowley High School during the 2007-08 school year than Malcolm Richard and Loralyn Huval.

St. Martin Parish’s “seat of justice” will be housed on St. Martinville’s former Early Learning Center campus while the historic old courthouse is undergoing renovations, possibly beginning late next year.

CROWLEY – Despite being the league leader in nearly every offensive category in 2008, Northside’s Sarah Ancelet was snubbed for the Most Valuable Player honor when the 6-C All-District squad, as voted on by the league’s coaches, was announced last week.

RAYNE - The final score might not have been what either coach hoped for but the overall outcome pleased them both.

A late touchdown by Rayne allowed the Wolves to salvage a 21-21 tie against Iota in the two teams’ spring game Friday.
