MILLINGTON, Tenn. – LSU-Eunice (49-12) blasted three home runs in the bottom of the first inning to catapult the Bengals to a 7-4 victory over Des Moines Area CC (48-17) in the final game of the first day in the 2008 NJCAA Division II World Series.

for liver recipient
A fund has been created for Renee Diaville of Eunice who has received a liver transplant. Money is being raised for medical expenses not covered by insurance and cost of living expenses as she remains in New Orleans for post-op treatment.
The fund is at Tri Parish Bank, under Renee Diaville liver transplant benefit.

Finding a parking space at the St. Landry Parish Courthouse is going to easier soon.
The parish council at its May meeting authorized issuing certificates of indebtedness to raise $180,000 for acquiring property and creating parking improvements.
