The Evangeline Parish Police Jury learned Crooked Creek Recreational Park operated in the black for the month of April during its meeting Monday, May 12.

Sanee’ LeShelle Boykins, the daughter of Sandra Reed and Ollie Reed of Mamou, is working to pursue her modeling career with Abercrombie and Fitch/Calvin Klein. She traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, for a casting show and placed in the top 50 out of about 1,000 hopefuls.

Hope Deslatte, the daughter of Sean and Tina Johnson of Pine Prairie, has attained the level of accomplishments, and upon the recommendations of the state selections committee, is a state finalist in the 2008 Miss Louisiana Pre-teen Pageant to be held at the Hilton Hotel in Lafayette July 25-28.<

Breaux Bridge — “You think it’s all over but it’s just beginning,” said Mayor Jack Dale Delhomme, sitting at his desk with a picture window view of linemen outside wrestling with downed wires on the side street.

Overflow from torrential early morning rains had drained off of Eunice streets by 11 a.m. Thursday and the city was again reachable from the outside.

A week before high school graduations, after receiving numerous complaints of local package liquor stores selling alcohol to persons under the age of 21, the Eunice City Marshal’s Office and the Juvenile Division of the Eunice Police Department conducted a sting operation, nabbing 13 persons on illegal sales charges.
