Lafayette – Cecilia’s Dexter Miller captured blue ribbons in the high jump and long jump at the Class 3A-Region II track and field meet held here last Wednesday.

Teurlings Catholic High junior Myles Melancon placed first in the shot put event at both the District 5-4A and Region II-4A meets with throws of 51-0 and 52-8 feet, respectively. He is the son of Stuart and Karen Melancon of St. Martinville.

The Eunice High Bobcats fell 8-2 Tuesday night to second-seeded Teurlings Catholic in the second round of the Class 4A playoffs.

Teurlings jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, and held Eunice scoreless until Mitchell Fuselier's RBI double in the bottom of the third.
