CROWLEY – Crowley Main Street is soliciting façade grant applications from downtown building and/or business owners. The Crowley Main Street program is able to offer competitive grants for Façade Restoration.

LAFAYETTE – Newspapers representing Louisiana State Newspapers (LSN) took home 141 awards including 54 first place plaques in the Better Newspaper Competition. The awards were handed out at the awards luncheon held Saturday at the Holidome.

CROWLEY – Barry Premeaux, general manager and host of the morning show for KSIG radio station, had an idea for providing area residents with a monthly variety show.

A reunion uniting Smith, Benoit and Sarver family members was held on April 19 at 8 a.m. Everyone gathered at the Ebenezer Church of Nazarene. Union committee members were Stephanie and Martin Schlesinger, Jerry and Jeanette Dennies and Charles and Betty Jo Sarver.

Governor Bobby Jindal officially declares April 27 through May 3 as Louisiana Volunteers For Family and Community, Inc. Week in a signed proclamation. The Acadia Volunteers for Family and Community members dedicate themselves to community service.

A family reunion for the family of Alice Sarver and Joseph Morgan was held on Saturday, April 5 at the Church of the Nazarene in Ebenezer.

The NAUW Pacesetter’s meeting was called to organize the group for the year 2008-2009. The Pacesetter’s last meeting was April 9 and was held at First Church of God in Christ, on the corner of 4th Street and Avenue B.
