In support of the Girl Scouts of America’s, Bayou Council Sponsorship Program, the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #6720 presented checks to Troop #497 of Mermentau and Troop #016 of Crowley on April 10.

On Tuesday, April 15, the Three Ten Club held their monthly meeting at the home of Wilda Burleigh. Co-hostesses for the evening were Flo Faulk and Betty Faulk.

Mary Beth Geesey, the club’s president, presided over the business meeting.

Wilton Thibodeaux and Laura Hebert became husband and wife on March 6, 1948, at St. John Catholic Church in Mermentau with Fr. Labbe officiating the ceremony.

Rachael Smith was recently feted with a bridal tea honoring her and her wedding party.

A baby shower honoring parents-to-be, Justin Achord and Victoria Boudier Achord of Crowley, was held on Saturday, April 5 at 2 p.m. at Northside Assembly of God Church.

The Evangeline Volunteers for Family and Community Education held its monthly meeting and a sewing workshop March 27, at the residence of Joyce Coreil. Twelve members were present.

The Magnolia Garden Club met April 14, at the home of Haidee Floyed with 13 members present. Joyce Coreil presided over the meeting and introduced four new members: Debbie Fontenot, Lola Fontenot, Kit Eckert and returning member Melanie Vidrine.
