10th annual Relay

for Life is Friday

The 10th annual Eunice Relay for Life benefitting the American Cancer Society will be from 6 p.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Saturday at St. Edmund Football Field.

Geoff Colvin, senior editor at large of Fortune Magazine, had an interesting article recently concerning the facts surrounding the debate on tax fairness.

As a starting point, Colvin notes that one of the major facts missing in much of the partisan tax debate in Washington has to do with the fact that a shrinking number of Americans are bearing an increasing burden from the income tax.

CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Leonard J. Cormier of Morse, 66, who died Monday, April 21, 2008 at Christus St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles.

CROWLEY – Funeral services are tentatively scheduled for Thursday, April 24, 2008 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley for Nelton Pierre LeBlanc, 85, who died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Fr. Gary Schexnayder, pastor, will officiate.

CROWLEY – Staying comfortable this summer can be a challenge for those people without air conditioning. For older people, the heat can even be deadly. To help them stay cool this summer, Cleco is conducting its annual fan drive for the elderly.

RAYNE – With the threat of rain looming in the air, fundraising for the American Cancer Society’s “Relay For Life” event was held on April 18 at the Rayne Frog Festival Fairgrounds.

LAFAYETTE – Tickets for the St. Jude Dream Home giveaway are now available for the 3, 446 square foot house located in the La Bon Vie subdivision of Lafayette.
