The Eunice High Lady Cats broke out midgame to steal the lead, beating the Breaux Bridge Lady Tigers 5-1 and advancing to the second round of the Class 4A state playoffs.

St. Edmund advances in softball playoffs

St. Edmund advanced to the next round of the high school softball playoffs with a 7-1 win Tuesday over visiting Metairie Country Day.
