An investigation into an alleged rape of a 10-year-old child has led to charges being filed against a Ville Platte couple.

LAFAYETTE - One of Crowley track coach Eric Rekieta’s main objectives when the 2008 prep track season began was to find someone to fill the shoes of graduated quarter miler Cy Quebedeaux on the Gents’ district and regional 4 x 400 championship relay team.

In my seven year’s of covering sports at the Crowley Post-Signal, I have seen numerous injustices done to high school athletes when it has come to postseason honors.

For the most part, I try to bite my tongue and rectify the wrongdoing on my All-Parish team.

Ag students at Mamou High School enjoyed a day in the field studying crawfish and learning about aquatic life March 17. After performing a dip to study a sample, they enjoyed a crawfish boil. Ag teacher Dwayne Fontenot hopes to make this an annual learning activity for ag students.

The beach in Negril, Jamaica, was the setting for the marriage of Jessica LeBlanc to Milan Gala on Saturday, March 8, 2008. The bride is the daughter of Jessie and Edith LeBlanc of Breaux Bridge. The groom’s parents are Manny Gala and Linda Juselin of Lafayette.

CROWLEY – Notre Dame’s Pios have been successful in taking advantage of their opponent’s mistakes lately and Thursday was no different when the Pios hosted the Church Point Bears .
