At a recent Ville Platte Civil Service meeting, the board reviewed exam scores from the three applicants vying for the newly created position of Fire Safety Training Officer.
During the board’s January meeting, three applicants were approved to take the required exam.

MAMOU – The Mamou Lady Demons earned a berth in the quarterfinals of the Class 2A state basketball championship by beating Lakeview, 67-54, Monday evening.
Eighth-seeded Mamou will travel to Lecompte to face the top-ranked Rapides Lady Mustangs on Thursday.
