Sheriff's office reports 16 recent arrests

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported 16 recent bookings into the parish jail.
Arrested were the following persons:
•Jarred O’Brian Doucet, 22, 1303 W. Live Oak, Ville Platte, was charged July 1, with resisting an officer, battery on a police officer, prohibited acts - Schedule I drugs and possession of Schedule IV. Doucet was released from jail on a $5,000 bond.
•Ben Hulon Jones, 73, 404 Country Hill Road, Washington, was charged July 1 with aggravated battery. Jones was released from jail on a $2,500 bond.
•Cody Keith Fontenot, 31, 1069 Chicot Park Road, Ville Platte, was charged July 2, with simple burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and probation violation. No bonding information was available.
•Troy Cornellus Bellard, 39, 1867 Gum St., Basile, was charged July 2, with possession with intent to distribute Schedule II and violation of controlled dangerous substance. Bellard was released from jail on a $25,000 bond.
•Michael Dewayne Fontenot Jr., 25, 1215 S. Berwick Ave., Basile, was charged July 2, with prohibited acts - Schedule II, violation of controlled dangerous substance, resisting an officer by force or violence, resisting an officer and drug paraphernalia. Fontenot was being held in jail on a $30,000 bond at press time.
•Blanch Ona Oge, 47, 201 E. St., Apt. 134, Mamou, was charged July 2, with domestic abuse battery. Oge was released from jail on a $5,000 bond.
•Phillip Shawn Oge, 29, 201 E. St., Apt 134, Mamou, was charged with domestic abuse battery. Oge was released from jail on a $5,000 bond.
•Heather Ardoin, 29, 1734 Clarks Lane, Ville Platte, was charged July 4, with simple battery, simple criminal damage to property, simple escape and aggravated escape. Ardoin was released from jail on a $5,000 bond.
•Teddy Terrill Arvie, 34, 6414 Chataignier Road, Eunice, was charged July 4, with domestic abuse battery and public intoxication. Arvie was released from jail on a property bond.
•Danielle Marie Newman, 30, 331 S. Lincaster St., New Orleans, was charged July 5, with resisting an officer, driving under revocation, suspension and general speed law. Newman was released from jail on a $606.50 bond.
•Baxter Buchanan Smith, 45, 10051 Park Meadow #51003, Lone Tree, California, was charged July 6, with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, open container and no proof of insurance. Smith was released from jail on a $1,401.50 bond.
•Scott Dequan Wilson, 21, 412 Joe Lipoma Road, Bunkie, was charged July 7, with maximum speed limit, open container and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Wilson was released from jail on a $2,000 bond.
•Timothy James Vidrine, 25, 2055 West Main St., Ville Platte, was charged July 8, with domestic abuse battery. Vidrine was released from jail on a 2,000 bond.
•Benjamin Paul Berzas, 35, 2312 W. Schambers, Basile, was charged July 9, with unauthorized entry into an inhabited dwelling, domestic abuse battery, disturbing the peace, resisting an officer and battery on a police officer. Berzas remained in jail on a $15,000 bond at press time.
•Troy Marquel Jackson, 42, 1039 Robert F. Kennedy Ave., Ville Platte, was charged July 9, with home invasion and aggravated battery. Jackson remained in jail on a $40,000 bond at press time.
•Troy Alney Fontenot, 21, 988 Ninth St, Pine Prairie, was charged July 10, with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, maximum limit, open container and expired MVI.Fontenot was released from jail on a $1,301.50 bond.
