Sheriff's office reports 17 recent arrests

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported 17 recent bookings into the parish jail.
Arrested were the following persons:
•Daniel Wayland Free, 37, 118 Armstrong St., Pineville, was charged August 18, with domestic abuse battery. Free remained in jail on a $5,000 bond at press time.
•Jared Leon Louis, 18, 707 E. Wilson St., Ville Platte, was charged August 16, with no driver’s license, no insurance, switched plate, open container, obstruction of justice and altered license plate. Louis was released from jail on a $15,000 bond.
•Thomas D. Labouve Jr., 40, 398 Hollingsworth Rd., Elton, was charged August 13, with exploitation of the infirm and theft under $500. Labouve was being held in jail on a $5,000 bond at press time.
•Holly Renada Dupre, 35, 223 Young St., Ville Platte, was charged August 18, with issuing worthless checks (four counts). Dupre was released from jail on a $1,225 bond.
•Jeremy James Jenkins, 35, 1251 Yukon St., Eunice, was charged August 18, with distribution of crystal methadrine. Jenkins was released from jail on a $18,000 bond.
•Brandon Christopher Messer, 27, 1233 Happy Hollow Road, Ville Platte, was charged August 19, with aggravated assault with a firearm. Messer was being held in jail on a $5,000 bond at press time.
•Percy Lee Williams, 37, 24 Fourth St., Ville Platte, was charged August 20, with driving left of center, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Williams was released from jail on a $10,000 bond.
•Kareen Antonio Leday, 27, 101 Railroad Ave., Mamou, was charged August 27, with stalking (four counts) and resisting an officer. Leday remained in jail on a $15,000 bond at press time.
•Marvin Lee Freeman, 28, 219 Cross St., Mamou, was charged August 20, with domestic abuse battery. Freeman remained in jail on a $5,000 bond at press time.
•Brock C. Newman, 32, 229 Newman Lane, Ville Platte, was charged August 21, with leaving the scene of ab accident, driving under revocation and careless operation with an accident. Newman was released from jail on a $649 bond.
•Dana Marie Galvan, 34, 1329 Walnut St., Pine Prairie, was charged August 21, with interfering with an officer, battery of an officer and resisting an officer, Galvan was released from jail on a $2,500 bond.
•Harris K. Fontenot III, 31, 212 Highway 178, Church Point, was charged August 23, with disturbing the peace. Fontenot remained in jail on a $1,500 bond at press time.
•Nolan Paul Manuel, 38, 2803 L’anse Meg Road, Mamou, was charged August 24, with criminal damage to property, simple burglary and theft of a firearm. Manuel remained in jail on a $25,000 bond at press time.
•Devan Rene Fruge, 19, 412 Fifth Ave., Kinder, was charged August 25, with malfeasance in office. Fruge was released from jail on a $10,000 bond.
•Bobby James Thomas Jr., 33, 3436 Highway 167 North, Ville Platte, was charged August 25, with attempted burglary and criminal trespass. Thomas remained in jail on a $155,000 bond at press time.
•John E. Dupre, 72, 402 Sandy St., Ville Platte, was charged August 25, with DWI (first offense), careless operation, open container and no seat belt. Dupre remained in jail on a $1,271 bond at press time.
•Jerrimy Kay Davenport, 36, 1034 Rob Mac Road, Ville Platte, was charged August 26, with suspended driver’s license, misuse of temporary plates and failure to change registration. Davenport was released from jail on a $10,576 bond.
