No arrests have been made in Jan. 2006 murders of Youris and Mary Courville.

On Wednesday, a Lafayette television station reported that Warren Gautreaux, a suspect early in the Courville case, had been arrested.

The St. Landry Parish public school reorganization plan proposed by a court-appointed Bi-Racial Committee and endorsed by the U.S. Department of Justice changes Eunice High School’s attendance zone but leaves elementary school lines untouched.

JENNINGS – Services for Daniel Ray Parsley, 83, will be Wednesday May 14, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Evangeline with Father Ted Broussard Officiating.

CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Hubert C. Guidry, Jr., 71, who died Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 9:55 a.m. at American Legion Hospital in Crowley.

CROWLEY – The fourteenth Leadership EXCEL class met at City Hall on Monday May 12 for a “wrap up session”, reception, and graduation ceremony.

WASHINGTON –– The Internal Revenue Service today reminds small tax-exempt organizations of their new annual electronic filing requirement as the first filing deadline of May 15 approaches. Organizations can file by going to the appropriate page on IRS.gov.
