ST. MARTINVILLE - The road trip to St. Martinville on Tuesday proved productive for Eunice as the Bobcats concluded spring football with a scrimmage against the Tigers.

The NCAA seems to only want one Louisiana team in the Softball College World Series.

St. Edmund High School finished sixth in the state in the Class 1A golf tournament last month at the Copper Mill Golf Club in Zachary, LA, finishing with a two-day score of 702.

Breaux Bridge junior Ricky Babineaux receives a plaque from Mayor Jack Dale Delhomme before the City Council Tuesday, May 13, in recognition of his successes in the 300 yard hurdles. Babineaux is the state champion in the track and field event.

JENNINGS – Iry Istre, 78, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at his residence in Jennings.

CHURCH POINT – Susan Guidry Barousse, 46, died Sunday, May 11 at the Acadia-St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point.

Guidry Funeral Home of Church Point is in charge of the arrangements.

EVANGELINE – Services for Jody Doucet, 55, will be Tuesday May 13, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Our Lady Help Of Christians Church with Rev. Charles McMillan officiating. She died Saturday May 11, 2008 at her residence.

She was the daughter of Eric and Joyce LeGros Hebert, born in Jennings.

ESTHERWOOD – Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Pearl L. LeBlanc, 81, who died May 11, 2008 at Southwind Nursing Home in Crowley.

CROWLEY – Eulogy will be conducted on May 16, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Donald R. Burnette officiating, for Wadie Helen Bias, 87, who died May 5, 2008 in Crowley.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
