A memorial service was held for Leona Deville Fontenot, 81, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 19.

The public, who did not register for the camp, can attend the variety of afternoon master presentations planned.

President George Bush’s plan to boost the nation’s economy is underway and the Internal Revenue System (IRS) will begin issuing stimulus payments in May to more than 130 million households.

MAMOU - An early morning crash Friday, April 18, claimed the life of a Mamou man after a head-on collision occurred on state Highway 13, near state Highway 374, a few miles south of Mamou in Evangeline Parish.

CROWLEY – Twenty-two individuals from 11 parishes in southwestern Louisiana, including Evangeline Parish’s Sharon Fontenot and Jim Shipp, were inducted into the Louisiana 4-H Hall of Fame at a ceremony held here April 15.
