On Thursday, April 10, 2008, Louisiana State Police – Troop I Criminal Patrol units stopped a vehicle on I-10, within St. Martin Parish, when troopers observed a red 2008 Ford pick up truck, commit a traffic violation.

HOUSTON – Claybey (C.P.) Abshire, 72, born on August 19, 1935 in Lyons Point, LA, the youngest of nine children, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 in Houston.
He was preceded in death by his son, Carl and grandson, Brandon.

RAYNE – The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life will be held on Friday, April 18 at the fair grounds in Rayne, starting at 6 p.m.
The Survivor Lap will begin at 6:20 p.m. A second lap will take place for family and caregivers.
