The Evangeline Parish Police Jury, during its regular meeting Monday, April 14, suspended the former Crooked Creek Recreational Park manager, Elroy George, with pay until a state police investigation is complete.

The Ville Platte Magnolia Garden Club awarded the Garden of the Month prize to Mr. and Mrs. Hersey Fontenot who reside on Hickory Street. The recipients of this award were chosen for the colorfulness of the amaryllis, organized day lily bed and total grooming of the yard.

An 80 percent chance of heavy rains and thunderstorms is predicted across the state tomorrow afternoon.
The St. Edmund Lady Jays are scheduled to play in Ruston at 4 p.m., the Eunice High Lady Cats are scheduled to play in Watson at 6 p.m.
