The mayor is an absolute, complete, idiot. Plain and simple.

The next time I see him, I intend to tell him such face to face.

Speaking my mind may end up with negative consequences, but nonetheless I cannot remain quiet.

The Eunice High Lady Cats broke out midgame to steal the lead, beating the Breaux Bridge Lady Tigers 5-1 and advancing to the second round of the Class 4A state playoffs.

The Eunice High Bobcats scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to escape a costly upset to the LaGrange Gators and win 5-4 Tuesday afternoon.

Bengals rally to win

PINEVILLE – The top-ranked LSU at Eunice Bengals came back from behind with a six-run breakout in the top of the fifth to score a 15-6 run Tuesday against the Louisiana College junior varsity squad.

Bozeman named Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS – LSU Eunice first baseman and Baton Rouge native, Kellen Bozeman has been named the Ringor/NJCAA Division II Player of the Week.

Bozeman went 12-19 at the plate and recorded 14 RBI to lead the No. 1 Bengals to four wins last week.

Taking a break from district action over the weekend, the St. Edmund Blue Jays dropped a 9-1 decision to the Class 3A Jennings Bulldogs.

Jennings (17-7; 6-0) drew first blood in the bottom of the second inning, breaking out for four runs.

OPELOUSAS – Tensas Gray Girl ($52.40) upset the applecart in the $62,230 Hallowed Dreams Stakes at Evangeline Downs Racetrack and Casino on Saturday evening.

High school athletes get physical at LSUE

Several local physicians and professionals from the Acadian Medical Center, Louisiana Technical College, Performance Therapy, Rehab XCel and The Therapy Center volunteered their time and services for the event.
