EUNICE – A wake service will be held Sunday, April 13, 2008 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with funeral services following at 7:00 PM, both at Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunice, for Trandon Jalin Jones, age 12.

St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Eunice served as the setting for the double-ring, evening ceremony uniting Meghan Hope Fontenot and Donald Dean Darbonne in holy matrimony. The ceremony was held on January 4 at 7 p.m.

Team Sam extended its lead in Week 10 of Eunice Ladies Tennis League play with a 9-8 win over second-place Team Manuel.

CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008 at St. Michael Chapel in Egan for Nolan Louis Sensat, 85, who died Thursday, April 10, 2008 at his residence in Egan.

Fr. Mikel Polson, pastor, will officiate.

CROWLEY – An early morning traffic stop has led to the recovery of 4 kilo’s of cocaine according to Crowley Chief of Police K.P. Gibson. Shortly after midnight on April 10th, officers working the L.A.C.E. program on Interstate 10, stopped a vehicle for traffic violations.

CROWLEY – The International Rice Festival, Inc. is proud to sponsor the annual contest for the design of this year’s festival poster. A $500 prize will be awarded to the winner of the contest.
