The Trojans dropped a pair of district games this week. They fell to Mamou and Port Barre in one-run ball games. The pair of losses sets the Trojans at 3-4 in district.

The United Citizens for Good Government recently held its annual Black History Program in the month of February. The organization honored local dean list students, pastors and members of law enforcement.

Melba Glover Tate was the guest speaker for the Magnolia Garden Club meeting held at the home of Hazel Fontenot March 10. She informed the club about the joys and surprises of having a butterfly garden.

To borrow a line, some think the parish will need a bigger boat.
Others point out it has probably missed the boat.
Nevertheless, the St. Landry Parish Council on Monday night decided to endorse a plan to double vehicle inspection sticker fees to generate funding for road improvements.
