The Ville Platte Housing Authority board approved funding for five people, three residents and two employees, to attend a PHDEP (Public Housing Drug Elimination Program) field trip during its special meeting Tuesday, June 17.

Jack found guilty of rape by jury

After deliberating just over one hour, an Evangeline Parish Jury convicted Harry Lee Jack of forcible rape. Jack, 53, of 901 Chestnut St., Mamou, was convicted of the rape, which occurred August 19, 2007, in the Town of Mamou. The case was investigated by the Mamou Police Department.
