CROWLEY – With official announcement of the Conservation Reserve Program’s Gulf Coast Prairies SAFE Project made during an “Earth Day” event held April 22, 2008, sign-up for the program has been set to begin Monday, May 5, 2008.

MAURICE - The Village of Maurice’s is moving forward toward zoning and a group of Maurice citizens formed a committee in order to help the aldermen and the mayor.

CROWLEY - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 21, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Marylyn “Jan” Jones Manuel, 48, who died Friday, April 18, 2008 at 9 a.m. in Crowley.

The V.F.W. Post 8971 and Ladies Auxiliary each year host and sponsor an Americanism essay contest for Eunice students.

Students from all Eunice elementary, junior high and high schools enter and participate in the contest.

IOTA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 21, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iota for Lucille Fabacher Gravot, 85, who died Friday, April 18, 2008 at 7:23 a.m. in Iota.
