On Tuesday, March 18, this thoughtful nine year old cut her long hair to donate it to Locks of Love, a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to children suffering from hairloss due to cancer treatments and other diseases.

50th Anniversary

A 50 anniversary party honoring Rosetta and Leneal Bolden Sr. of Crowley, was held on Saturday, March 15, at 7 p. m. at Masonic Hall.

Mrs. Bolden is the former Rosetta Wilridge. She is the daughter of the late Sidney and Roseana Wilridge of Crowley.

The Galvez Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Attakapas Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, held the 49 annual George Washington Ball, on March 8, at the Lafayette Petroleum Club.

The American Cancer Society Relay for Life Team sponsored an Egg-stravaganza on Saturday, March 15, at Estherwood Elementary School.

Children ranging in age from 2 to 13 hunted eggs for prizes and had an egg toss.

Perry, Habetz announce engagement

Avril Marie Perry and Vandon Joseph Habetz, both of Lafayette, will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, April 5, during an 11 a.m. nuptial mass in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lafayette.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Todd Alexander Perry and the late Ava Foco Perry of Lafayette.

Searching for crawfish thieves

Rayne Chief of Police Carroll Stelly is asking for help to help identify the suspect(s) who stole over $1,000 worth of live crawfish.
