CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2008 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Crowley for Theresa “Lou” Morgan, 77, who died Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.

Officiating the services will be Father Avelino Vale.

CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Our Mother of Mercy Church in Church Point for Michael D. Ceasar, Sr., 41, who died Sunday, July 20, 2008 at his home in Church Point.

Officiating the services will be Fr. Butler.

CROWLEY – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2008 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Melissa Harrington Cofer, 47, who died July 22, 2008 in Crowley.

CROWLEY – On the morning of July 20th, Rebecca “Becky” Handy’s home on 11th St. was completely destroyed by a fire. While she was lucky enough to escape the blaze uninjured, she lost nearly all of her personal belongings. Sadly, some of these items can never be replaced.

CHURCH POINT – A Church Point man is facing embezzlement charges after his recent indictment in federal court.

Steve J. Broussard is accused of making at least 22 transactions with unauthorized funds from the bank during the years of 1998 to 2004.

RAYNE - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, on Friday, July 25, 2008 for Ulysses “Ducky” Joseph Prevost, Sr., 81, who died Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at his residence.

Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne.
