Savoy Care Center News: Residents enjoy recent activities

Hello once again, my friends,
Yes, we did have another great and fun month! The art classes with Abby are gaining more and more residents each week. Let me tell you what, we’ve got some residents here with some talent! You know, just because you are in a nursing home or a care center, doesn’t mean that your mind isn’t active. We may not be able to do things as fast or as well as we used to, but it doesn’t mean that we don’t try.
We had another fishing trip and everyone had a blast! No, we didn’t set any new world records with any of our fish, but we sure had a good time trying! James “The Cook” Thomas showed off his cooking skills once again at our wildlife cookout. The cookout included deer, squirrel and many other wildlife. Then, they turned around and had a chili pie and cheese nacho sale! So, if you get any requests from your loved ones for some larger clothing now you know why!
Our “Trick or Treat” event for the kids went very well. After the kids left, all you could hear in the hallways and dining rooms was, “You know when I was a kid...” or “Man, we used to have some good times at Halloween!” It really brought back a lot of memories for everyone.
The “Halloween Bash” for the residents was a huge success with the staff dressed in some really, well, let’s just say unusual costumes.
All in all, it was a pretty good month for most of us. On behalf of the residents, and I’m certain that I can speak for the staff when I say that to those of you who lost loved ones, you have our deepest and most heartfelt condolences.
