A former police clerk for the Village of Pine Prairie was in court Thursday morning for one count of theft.
Mona Norton appeared before the Honorable Gary J. Ortego of the 13th Judicial District and entered a plea of not guilty to Theft $750 or More but Less Than $5,000.00.
Evangeline Parish School District employees can look forward to receiving their 13th check on November 17, 2017.

A Mamou resident has devoted his career of 22 years to serving his country as a parachutist and a pathfinder. After his retirement from the United States Army in 1999, he has helped build up democracy in the Middle East and has served his community by rebuilding the American Legion in Mamou and its annual Veterans Day celebration.

A deputy with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a harassment complaint at a residence on Cheryl Street in Ville Platte on October 28 and left the family of the residence looking for answers after he shot a 12-pound rat terrier.
