Panthers push past Warriors

The Pine Prairie boys cruised by the Oakdale Warriors on the hardwood 64-40 in non-district action.
The Panthers went up 24-8 in the opening period. Douglas Fontenot and Colton Chaddrick got hot early. The duo went on to combine for 32 points. They both banked 16 digits and both hit a pair of three-point shots.
In the second period, the Warriors battled back and scored 14 points. However, the Panthers managed to stay out in front by scoring 18 points. The Panthers took a 42-22 lead into the locker room at the mid-way point.
The second half was set and the two teams traded buckets. Pine Prairie was out-scored 13-12 in the third period, but they bounced back in the final stanza to hold on.
Pine Prairie will be taking on the Carencro Bears this week at the Sacred Heart Turkey Tournament which begins tomorrow.
