BASILE -- The Sacred Heart boys and girls hard court teams took to the floor here Tuesday in a non-district showdown with the Basile Bearcats and the Lady Bearcats.
In the opening game, the Lady Trojans were without two key players, including starter Erin Fontenot, but found a way to hold on at the end in a 32-30 win.
In the nightcap, the Trojans held their own in the first half, nevertheless a strong Basile defense allowed the Bearcats to pull away for a 60-52 win.
Here is a rundown of both games.

Sacred Heart (G)

The game started close and finished close, as the Lady Trojans held a slim 12-11 lead after one quarter of play thanks to six early points from Catherine Poche.
A combination of poor shooting and a tough Sacred Heart defense led to only two points scored by the Lady Bearcats, as the Lady Trojans went into halftime with a 18-13 lead.
In the third quarter neither team could gain an advantage, with both squads netting 10 points each.
Basile tried to make a comeback in the fourth quarter by outscoring Sacred Heart 7-4, but a last second shot to tie the game was off the mark.
