Troupe d’Evangeline presents “The Toys Take Over Christmas”

On Wednesday, December 11, the cast and crew of Troupe d’Evangeline’s production of “The Toys Take Over Christmas” held a final dress rehearsal for their debut performance Thursday, December 12, at the Northside Civic Center.
The show, directed by Travis Fontenot, tells the story of a mean toymaker who thinks he is the greatest toymaker in the world, but the toys think Santa is better. The toymaker refuses to sell his toys to boys and girls who would love them. He wants to be selfish and keep them all to himself. The toys need the audience’s help to vote for the greatest toymaker in the world: Santa or the Toymaker. If Santa gets enough votes, he might even make an appearance!
A second performance of the kid-friendly show will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, December 19, at the Pine Prairie High School Auditorium. Tickets are $7 each if purchased early and $10 each at the door.
The talented cast and crew responsible for this fun, family show are Jessie Jowers, Toymaker; Madalyn Soileau, Sunny; Faith Brown, Colette; Alexis Franks, Tina; Joel Bruno, Captain; Abigail Gagnard, Soldier #1; Deanna Brown, Soldier #2; Melanie Soileau, Old Woman/Christmas Fairy; Claire Vidrine, Customer; Billy Cheramie, Santa Claus; Marianne Lafleur, Cowgirl; Morgan Johnson, Snowman; Nick Bonnette, KrisTina LaTour and Taylor Ardoin, Elves; Brianna Gauthier, Penguin; Britney Barney, Ballerina; Dezmond Cheramie, Karate Kid; Kohen Joubert, Cowboy; Ainslee Soileau, stage manager; Phillip Cavins, assistant stage manager; and Dane Ware, backstage assistant.
