Mardi Gras Celebration ready to roll

bBy Randy Braddock

It’s that time again. “Laissez les bons temps rouler,” or Let the Good Times Roll, will be heard up and down Main Street in Columbia on February 5th as Mardi Gras rolls once again.

The Krewe of Main would like to invite you to participate in the Mardi Gras foot parade that will take place at 5:00 p.m. and participants (children and adults alike) will parade down the 100 block of Main Street as revelers don their Mardi Gras colors. Beads, candy and doubloons will be thrown to the crowd by special guests of the parade.

Prizes will be awarded for the best adult and child’s costumes and the best decorated form of transportation. Everyone is invited to join in the fun, just walk or ride anything that is not motorized so that the children can enjoy the festivities safely.

A King and Queen and Prince and Princess will be chosen from those who find the “baby” in the King Cake.

Don’t miss out on the fun and celebration as Mardi Gras comes to Columbia. You may call the Columbia Main Street program or the Caldwell Parish Chamber of Commerce at 649-0726 with any questions.
