Michael W. Frank

Funeral services were held for Michael W. Frank, 71, of Ville Platte, at Ninth Baptist Church in Ville Platte at 7 p.m., Sunday, July 21. Burial was held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 22, in the church cemetery.

Mr. Frank died Monday, July 15, 2013, at his residence. He was a faithful member of Ninth Baptist Church and served his country in the U.S. Army. He was an Evangeline Parish educator and coach for 30 years and was highly respected in the Ville Platte community.

Survivors include his wife, Pathenia M. Frank of Ville Platte; three sons, Marshall Frank of Ville Platte, Miguel Frank of Houston, Texas, and Terrance Lane of Virginia; two daughters, Savannah F. Johnson of Arnaudville and Valencia F. LeDay of Opelousas; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Frank and Savannah Dorsey Frank; and two sons, Reginald Frank and Baby Boy Frank.

Pall bearers were Marshall Frank, Miguel Frank, Aaron Frank, Reginald Frank, Ricky Johnson Jr. and Ricky Johnson Sr.

Visitation was observed Sunday, July 21, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Ninth Baptist Church.

Rev. Darwan Lazard officiated.

Frank Brothers Funeral Home of Eunice was in charge of arrangements.
