BELAIRE COVE - Funeral services will be held for Joseph “Jr.” Emery Ortego Jr., 54, of Belaire Cove, at the LaVille Funeral Home Chapel in Ville Platte at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 27. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Belaire Cove.
Mr. Ortego died Monday, November 25, 2013, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Leslie L. Ortego of Belaire Cove; his mother, Gloria M. Chapman of Ville Platte; his father, Jessie Chapman of Ville Platte; two sons, Anthony Marc Smith and his wife, Elizabeth, of Belaire Cove and Joshua Todd Smith of Ville Platte; two daughters, Karla Ann Ortego and Rebecca Marie Ortego, both of Ville Platte; four sisters, Belinda Berzas and her husband, Bobby, and Cynthia Fontenot and her husband, Jody, all of Ville Platte, Lorina Thibodeaux and her husband, Davis, of Gretna and Elizabeth Hammill and her husband, Bill, of Lafayette; one granddaughter, Kloe Ann Fontenot; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Emery Ortego Sr.; one son, Christopher Guillory; and one daughter, Macy Ortego.
